Location: The golf course is located on the suthh-east side of Mallorca. Introduction to the course : Andratx Golf Course is one of the most challenging on the island, with its long holes carved out of this hilly landscape offering some dramatic views. The golf is beautifully designed with over 60 bunkers (using quartz white sand), seven lakes (over six holes) and narrow fairways making accurate shots (especially of the tees) most important. The course is well irrigated with re cycled water kept on course and with three different grass types used it is very easy to see whether the ball is on fairway, rough or green. Some of the holes are between property developments but the back nine are all set in beautifully un-spoilt countryside with pine trees and Mediterranean flora. The 6th hole (stroke index 1) is over 600 metres uphill. This, coupled with a beautiful waterfall left of the bunker and a severely sloping green make the hole a real challenge. Hole 14 (par 4) and hole 15 (par 3) seem quite harmless by appearance but a slight deviation to the right or left is fatal. The 18th hole is spectacular. There are 7 strategically placed water hazards and the course has 43 white sand bunkers. It has typical Mallorquin stone walls both new and restored, adding a real local flavour to the surroundings. Course Facilities: The Driving Range and Golf Academy has become the premiere practice facility in Mallorca. It boasts among its satisfied clientele such star names as supermodel Claudia Schiffer, tennis ace Boris Becker and Hollywood legend Michael Douglas. Set in the majestic hills of Andratx in western Mallorca yet only a stone's throw from an idyllic beach in Camp de Mar the scenery is breathtaking and the facilities are of top quality, suitable for all levels of player.
